CHRISTOPHER VÉLEZ REPRESENTS NEW YORK IN "LA MAGNA 2012"
After winning a live competition, where he faced 20 other finalist, Christopher Vélez was designated the winner of Operation Éxito New York.

Like so many other schools in the Bronx and other areas of New York, the High School of World Cultures must increase their Regents results this coming January 2013. This increase is necessary to ensure the continued success of the school and to allow 81 students to graduate on time. With that aim in mind, the OE team implemented different strategies in conjunction with the school’s Principal, administration, faculty and students in preparation for the tests.

The different OE modules are essential when it comes to meeting this objective. This is why students began to register on operationexito.com and participated in a math and science competition online allowing them to review and complete exams in a variety of subject areas measured in the Regents Examinations.

The defining moment occurred last Friday November 30th when 20 finalists and more than 400 spectators experienced the adrenaline and enthusiasm of OE’s live competition where the young student Christopher Velez was crowned the winner of OE New York defeating Ananna Noor Kazi in a grueling tie breaker.

Christopher Vélez, traveled to Puerto Rico where he represented his country in Operation Exito’s La Magna International Competition, the crown jewel of the educational project that brought together representatives from Argentina, Spain, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Puerto Rico to compete for the supreme OE prize, a $100,000.00 college scholarship and a trip to Australia.
